Here is a short video of Sam ‘out and about’ in his local community enjoying his day off. He shows us his favourite shops and later hops on a Bus to see his friends for a Christmas dinner.
Sam moved into Cintre’s Supported Living home, in Kingswood, Bristol, in November 2017. The service provides support to individuals with learning disabilities and other additional needs.
Sam previously lived and was supported by his family, and recently made the brave leap to leave home and live more self-sufficiently in shared housing with light touch support to develop his living and personal skills.
Sam is enjoying his newfound independence and learning to navigate around his local community. In his free time he spends time visiting various game stores to fulfil his favourite hobby ‘gaming’, visiting homeware stores to buy accessories for his bedroom and en-suite. He is growing confidence within the local community and on his own.
He has a part time job for a grounds and gardens firm, and receives support on his days off where he can focus on himself and learn new skills such as cooking, and is working towards sharing his cooking skills with friends.
Sam is looking forward to living with more individuals with similar needs within the Supported Living Environment.
