We are supporting Stop Adult Abuse Week (SAAW) this week (15-19 June)

Stop Adult Abuse Week is a local initiative that started in 2014 when a number of Local Safeguarding Adult Board Communications Groups in the South West decided to join together to run a week to focus attention on Safeguarding.

Each day of the week this year there is a theme to highlight the different kinds of abuse. Monday: Safeguarding Adults. Tuesday: Scams. Wednesday: Domestic Violence and Abuse. Thursday: Cuckooing. Friday: Self Neglect.

Cuckooing is the sad situation where people move into a house having befriended an individual and then take advantage of the situation and take control of the home; this could be to store and sell drugs or for other exploitation. Unfortunately vulnerable adults are particularly likely to be affected by this.

If you’re concerned about someone you know in Bristol being abused or neglected call Care Direct on 0117 922 2700, or if the danger is immediate call 999.

At Cintre we support many people with complex needs, including those with a range of physical and mental conditions.

Our diverse team provides all these varying forms of care and support, and what unites them are our core values: collaboration; empathy; quality; integrity; well-being.

Our core focus is on enabling the independence of the individuals we support.

We value the happiness of our staff and clients very much. It is important to us that there is a community between clients and staff, and trust and confidence in the work we do.

We work very hard to recruit the right staff and welcome new capabilities. We are always looking for dedicated, hard-working individuals with a commitment to our values to join our team – check out our vacancies page or volunteers page for more information.
